I started off my knife making career with the simple desire to create my very own kitchen knife. so if youve found yourself on this page you likely have that same itch! we’ll begin bright and early with a peice of high grade stainless and begin the process of chosing a design, hammering a blank and profiling the steel. We’ll also select a peice of wood from our wood store and begin the process of creating a handle.

Over the course of the weekend you’ll learn about the science of steel heat treatment (hardening steel) the key stage in creating a knife edge. As the Kiln heats your knife to over 1000 Degrees we’ll talk about how each element in the steel adds to its properties as a finished knife.
